Kinsmen Club of Calgary Foundation Celebrates 14 Years of Community Impact

The Kinsmen Club of Calgary Foundation, a registered charity that supports the work of the Kinsmen Club of Calgary and the Kinette Club of Calgary, is marking its 14th anniversary this year. The Foundation was established in 2010 to raise funds and awareness for causes that align with the values of Kin Canada, the national organization of Kinsmen and Kinettes, and to work closely with the Kinsmen Club of Calgary whose members provide oversight and direction to our Foundation.

The Foundation’s president, Jeff Peterson, said that the Foundation has been able to make a positive difference in the lives of Calgarians and Canadians through its programs and partnerships. “We are proud to be part of the Kin Canada family, which has been serving the country’s greatest needs since 1920. We share the values of fellowship, leadership, service, and diversity, and we are always looking for new ways to grow our impact and to collaborate with other organizations that share our vision,” Jeff said.

One of the Foundation’s main programs is the Calgary high school bursary program, which recognizes student leaders who have demonstrated excellence in academics, community service, and extracurricular activities. The program works with the Calgary Board of Education and the Calgary Catholic School Board to award bursaries and financial assistance to students who are pursuing post-secondary education. The program aims to encourage and empower the next generation of leaders and changemakers and is working hard to support more schools and needs across Calgary.
The Foundation also supports the Adopt-a-Family program, which is run by the Kinette Club of Calgary. The program provides food, clothing, toys, and other essentials to families in need during the holiday season. The program fosters a sense of connection and compassion between the donors and the recipients, working with Calgarians in need of extra love and support during the Holiday season each year.

Jeff said that the Foundation is grateful for the support of the community and the major donors, who have enabled the foundation to issue donation receipts as a registered charity. “We invite anyone who is interested in joining or supporting our cause to visit our website or contact us. Together, we can make a difference”.
